Yukata is the cotton fabric used to make summer kimonos, and is also the name used for the summer robes made from this fabric. It is a dyed fabric (that is, not screen printed) and so is usable, and beautiful, from both sides. The pattern designer, Diane Weber, has been buying and working with these fabrics, especially the vintage ones, for several years. 'Yukata By Numbers' is the second quilt pattern she has designed to use these fabrics in an artistic but repeatable way. By following the guidance in the pattern, you too can create a beautiful piece of quilt art from yukata or other specialty fabrics. We hope you enjoy it!
Pattern includes instructions for a 48" x 52" art quilt made using yukata fabric. You can substitute commercial Asian fabric or any specialty textiles for the yukata fabrics.
